In general, half-moon(s) are when tides are running at a minimun. New Moon and Full Moon will have the greatest tidal swings. This is extremely important for boat launching. If your guide says to be there at 5:00 a.m. for example, be there on time or a bit early! The tide could be going out and the longer the delay, the more difficult it is. Also, pay attention when pulling your boat ashore; if tide is going out, it could be left high and dry, or if tide coming in, it could float away.
